Course Objectives: | 1. To learn the fundamentals of marine navigation; 2. To gain familiarity with the bridge equipment and the nautical publications, including nautical charts; 3. To be able to interpret the important elements of marine navigation from a business viewpoint. |
Course Content: | This elective course is designed to familiarize Maritime Business Management students with maritime shipping operations and navigational requirements of a ship for a better planning of cargo operations. The program gives students an expertise of managing a naval vessel as a company staff and ultimately as a manager of a shipping/ship management company. The emphasis is upon nautical systems and topics and their applications in navigating a ship in coastal and ocean navigation |
