Objective and Contents of the Course

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to define the concept and functions of warehousing, to explain the layout of the warehouses, to determine the order picking technique and warehouse capacity, to provide the basic functions and storage processes and the activities required for a good storage.
Course Content: The course is designed to convey the strategic role of distribution centers and materials management within the supply chain. The content includes the analysis of distribution center operations from the design phase to implementation, system selection and placement, as well as materials handling and warehouse management options.
