| Course Content: | The course covers Modern History, the Turkish War of Independence, the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, and the content and significance of Atatürk’s Principles and Reforms. The aim is to move away from traditional, rote learning of our recent history, the Republic of Turkey, and the Turkish Revolution, and instead ensure that students achieve a lasting understanding of and commitment to these topics through discussion, inquiry, and critical examination. This approach is intended to support the development of contemporary, democratic, secular, social, and rule-of-law principles, and to guide Turkey's progress with knowledgeable, respected, and honorable individuals who follow Atatürk’s modern path and ensure our place in the civilized world. |
