Program Information

Computer engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the design, development, and management of computer systems and software. This field forms the foundation of modern technology and offers innovative solutions in many areas of life. Computer engineers use scientific and mathematical principles to solve complex problems, keep pace with technological advancements, and develop projects tailored to the needs of society.

Information and communication technologies, which are used in virtually every aspect of life today, are rapidly changing, evolving, and becoming more widespread. In this context, the profile of skilled professionals required by relevant industries is also changing, and traditional curriculum programs are unable to meet this need. Our department was established with the aim of implementing a pioneering and innovative educational program to train professionals equipped to meet the evolving needs and expectations of information technology. The primary vision of the Department of Computer Engineering at Pîrî Reis University is to train qualified engineers and contribute to academic research in this field. To this end, courses covering current information technologies have been carefully designed by examining the curriculum examples of Computer Engineering programs in Turkey and abroad, as well as the course content included in those programs. Care has been taken to ensure that the courses included in the updated curriculum cover the latest developments in the field and, as much as possible, provide the knowledge and skills that department graduates will need in their professional lives. Our department’s primary mission is to train engineers who can develop information systems using modern information technologies and scientifically guide these technologies in accordance with humanity’s needs and global standards.

We aim to be one of the leading Computer Engineering departments in our country and around the world, producing graduates who are in high demand internationally and excelling in scientific research, projects, and education. The faculty members in our department lead research projects that shape the industry and contribute to scientific studies. In this way, we pursue the goal of creating new opportunities in the fields of technology and innovation and developing solutions to meet the needs of society.

Our Computer Engineering department also offers students the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and develop their communication skills. As a result, our graduates acquire the competencies needed to take on leadership roles in various sectors and interdisciplinary projects, and to play an active role in solving societal problems.

The pervasive presence of technology in every field and the wide variety of career opportunities in this profession make it easy for our graduates to find employment. In sectors such as Information Technology, Communications, Healthcare, Energy, Automotive, Defense, Telecommunications, and Finance, graduates can work as Computer Engineers, Software Engineers, Robotics Engineers, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Database Administrator, Data Analyst, Graphic Designer, Web Designer, and Information Technology Manager (IT Manager).
