Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course that provides with students necessary information for gaining legal perspective and accelerating decision-making processes during daily operations for senior and middle level managers in the logistics sector. |
Course Content: | The course will examine contemporary logistics and transportation issues, the applicable legal framework for the sector, transportation organization, the socio-political environment of the industry, regulations related to transportation, cost characteristics of transportation, national and international documentation, export and import aspects of transportation, and significant international agreements. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) By students who passed from LOJ 312 successfully; I. Understand positions of people such as shipper, receiver, carrier, consultant, insurers in transportation and logistics from the legal point of view 1) Students who passed the LOJ 312 Logistics and Shipping Legislations successfully will, I. Have knowledge about market entry in maritime, highways, railroad and airways II. Have knowledge about the rights, obligations and liabilities during transportation operations III. Have knowledge about the rules of each type of transportation IV. Have knowledge about the legal documents in logistics operations and transportation processes 2) II. Distinguish different rules on road, on railway, on air or on sea. 3) III. Being easily aware of the issues in contracts from the logistics perspective and being aware of the rights and obligations of shippers, carriers, insurers and receivers of freight. 4) IV. To describe how the laws and regulations impact the shipping, movement, storage, insuring and receiving of goods. 5) V. To summarize the problem areas remaining in the domestic and global movement of goods, and possible remedies to be considered. |
