Objective and Contents of the Course

Course Objectives: 1. Examine basic business science methods and how these interact with other disciplines
2. Introduce general knowledge of basic business functions (finance, marketing, etc.) which also include lectures, ethics and professional standards.
Course Content: The aim of the course is to address various topics encountered by firms and their management levels within the framework of core business theory. It will cover decision-making processes, fundamental issues faced in business operations, and the search for solutions to these issues. In this context, the course will examine fundamental business science methods and their interactions with other disciplines. Additionally, the course will provide an introduction to the fundamental functions of businesses (such as finance and marketing), including discussions on ethics and professional standards.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Define the position and importance of businesses within economic and social life
2) Explain businesses with their inputs, outputs, processes, environment, systems, and sub-systems dimensions and their interactions with each other as well as with other businesses
3) Meet the basic literature regarding business and management, and remember the terms such as competition, entrepreneurship, business size, etc.
4) Define the businesses as the basic component of economic life and relate them to environmental actors such as state, politics, education, labor unions, customers, etc.
5) Conceptualize businesses with all their shareholders
6) Get prepared for next year courses such as marketing, finance, accounting, HR, logistics, behavioral sciences, etc. and grasp the relation and importance of these lectures with businesses
