Objective and Contents of the Course
| Course Objectives: | To provide students with knowledge on the following subjects, to provide them with an understanding of expertise and to develop their application/use skills. To provide management and leadership skills to take part in globally competitive organizations that shape the Maritime Industry. 1. Learning Outcomes
|
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have knowledge about safety culture, environmental protection, Total Quality Management, Integrated Management System and legal requirements. Know the responsibilities and regulations regarding these issues. 2) Have knowledge about the establishment and implementation of Total Quality Management System together with the types of International Quality Standards (ISO). Prepare the necessary procedures and reports, perform internal audit. 3) Know the method of establishing and implementing Safety Management System on land and sea and explain SOLAS Chapter XI ISM Code and its purpose according to International Legal Legislation. 4) Know the implementation of Quality Management philosophy in the Safety Management System structure established by SOLAS Chapter XI and the certification structure. Prepare the necessary ISM Forms and reports, 5) Have the necessary knowledge about internal audit rules including ISM Code requests for auditing in accordance with ISM Code requests. Evaluate compliance with ISM code and prepare the necessary reports. 6) Have knowledge about rescuing people from ships in distress and operations to be carried out in emergency situations in port. Know the responsibilities and regulations regarding these issues. |
