Objective and Contents of the Course

Course Objectives: The course aims at giving the general guidelines related to the choice of theses.
Thesis Preparation is the first part of a thesis project. Students begin research,
analysis, and developing design ideas in this semester. Students are expected to
develop their critical thinking and to identify an appropriately complex and
forward-thinking inquiry that may positively expand the field and advance
knowledge. Students will give illustrated presentations and are offered workshop
classes in which peer groups present written and graphic work to faculty members.
Workshops allow for extended intensive project discussion and development with
both faculty and fellow students. During this course, students will produce an
abstract thesis proposition clearly outlining their central question, its significance
in the context of design research, and the methods they intend to interrogate their
topic. Students are expected to prepare an article on a topic they choose if their
proposal is approved by their instructor. If the proposal is not accepted, they will
be given another chance by the course instructor on a topic relevant to the aims
and objectives of the department
Course Content: 1. Develops awareness of the literature in the field of business.
